Daniela Álvarez Rodríguez

Daniela is an experienced trial attorney in a wide range of practice areas and bilingual in English and Spanish. After graduating from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in 2019, Daniela began her career working at the litigation department at O’Neill & Borges LLC, the top law firm in her hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Here, Daniela mostly focused on motion work in Title III proceedings on behalf of the Financial Oversight Management Board for the Government of Puerto Rico, a federal governmental entity created by Congress whose purpose is to oversee the Government of Puerto Rico’s budget and restructure its public debt. Daniela authored motions in federal court for Puerto Rico’s proposed debt restructuring.

Daniela obtained her LL.M. at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in Rio Piedras. Daniela researched and drafted a sixty page thesis comparing Puerto Ricans’ constitutional rights as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution versus the Puerto Rico Constitution, including an exploration of the limitations Puerto Ricans have with voting rights when residing in Puerto Rico.

After Daniela graduated in 2023, Daniela moved to work at the Children’s Law Center of California, where she represented abused and neglected children in court on a daily basis until joining Haney & Shah LLP in 2026.

Daniela obtained her BA in Liberal Arts in 2016 from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland. At St. John’s Daniela studied philosophy, in their program St. John’s College, adheres to an integrated curriculum studying the liberal arts using the “Great Books”, that is, the classical texts, to explore each subject.
